Agnes Shuk-mei Ku is Associate Professor of Social Science at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She is affiliated with the Center for Cultural Sociology at Yale University and has previously cochaired a research committee (sociological theory) of the International Sociological Association. Her research interests include cultural sociology, civil society, urban space, social movement and identity issues in Hong Kong. She has published widely in such journals as American Journal of Cultural Sociology, Environment and Planning D: Society and Space, International Sociology, Sociological Theory, Theory, Culture and Society, The China Quarterly, and The China Journal.
