Amy Binder is an SNF Agora Institute Professor of Sociology at Johns Hopkins University. She is an award-winning author of three books published by Princeton University Press and the University of Chicago Press, and numerous articles appearing in leading scholarly outlets including the American Sociological Review, The Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, and Theory and Society. Her most recent book, The Channels of Student Activism: How the Left and Right Are Winning (and Losing) in Campus Politics Today studies student politics across the ideological spectrum. Her research has been widely reviewed in the media and academic journals, and she has written for such media outlets as The Washington Post, The Washington Monthly, and The Chronicle of Higher Education. She is an elected member of the Sociological Research Association, and has been a visiting scholar at the Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Center, the Russell Sage Foundation in New York City, and the Center for Advanced Study in the Social and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University.
