Bridget Eileen Rivera is a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology at the CUNY Graduate Center. Her dissertation research investigates how religious communities respond to allegations of sexual abuse, with a focus on image repair, moral legitimacy, and the symbolic dynamics of scandal. Drawing on cultural sociology, her work examines how authority is contested during times of institutional crisis and contributes to broader conversations at the intersection of religion, gender, and criminology.
