Håkon Larsen is a cultural sociologist and Professor of Library and Information Science at Oslo Metropolitan University. He is working at the intersection of cultural sociology, cultural policy studies, and library studies. Among other things, he has done a number of studies of how managers of cultural organizations perform legitimacy in a civil public sphere. In 2016, he published the book Performing Legitimacy: Studies in High Culture and the Public Sphere (Palgrave Macmillan).
