Mustafa Emirbayer is the John Dewey Professor of Sociology and Social Thought at UW-Madison. He has published extensively on social theory, race, and the relation between sociology and psychoanalysis. He also is the author of “The Alexander School of Cultural Sociology” (Thesis Eleven, 2004) and the coauthor, with Molly Noble, of “The Peculiar Convergence of Jeffrey Alexander and Erik Olin Wright” (Theory and Society 2013).
