Peter Kivisto is the Richard A. Swanson Professor of Social Thought Emeritus at Augustana College. The Academy of Finland appointed him Finland Distinguished Professor at the University of Turku, and he was subsequently awarded an honorary doctorate by the university. His research focuses on immigration, social integration, and civil society.
