Todd Madigan is an Assistant Professor of sociology at Coastal Carolina University. His research explores the ways in which social narratives can alternately shape and shatter collective identity. At present, he is working on developing the concept of inverted totems and using it to understand contemporary political strategies used by the American Right. He holds a PhD in sociology from Yale University.
