Zikun Liu is a cultural sociologist with a focus on disaster narratives and cultural trauma. She earned her PhD from Tsinghua University in China and is currently an Assistant Professor at the School of Journalism and Communication at Wuhan University. Her research interests encompass the Chinese media’s narrative and cultural responses to disasters, as well as the complex interplay between gender, health, and culture. Her scholarly contributions have been published or are forthcoming in several leading journals, including Chinese Journal of Sociology, Health Communication, Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, and Information Development. Committed to fostering dialogue between Chinese and American sociological perspectives, her recent interviews with Jeffrey Alexander and Philip Smith have been accepted by the Tsinghua Sociological Review and Tsinghua Journal of Social Sciences.
