University of Hong Kong ~ Hong Kong

This was the second in a series of conference-book projects to globalize civil sphere theory (CST). Examining the civil sphere in social settings outside the United States, these conferences not only apply CST but creatively elaborate and revise it.

Organized by Jeffrey Alexander of Yale University and David Palmer of HKU, with generous support from the Council of East Asian Studies at Yale University and The Center for Cultural Sociology at Yale University.
