Håkon Larsen Receives 4-Year Grant from the Research Council of Norway

CCS Faculty Fellow Håkon Larsen and his research team have been awarded funding from the Research Council of Norway for the research project Free Speech Controversies and the Arts (FREEART), which will run for 4 years, staring January 2027. He has eight researchers joining him in the project, including former CCS visiting graduate student Pål Halvorsen. CCS Director Emeritus Jeffrey Alexander, and Faculty Fellows Anna Lund and Lisa McCormick will make up an advisory board for the project. 

Theoretically and empirically the project pursues civil sphere theory, cultural sociology and sociology of the arts. Learn more about the grant and the project at FRIPRO projects to OsloMet.
