Marcel Knöchelmann is a social theorist exploring the intersections of authorship, literature, and culture. His research examines how texts—both literary and academic—function as media of reflection for normative and symbolic orders. His current position is at Kultursoziologie, Institut für Soziologie, Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main. From 2023 to 2026 he was a postdoctoral researcher at Yale University, funded by the DFG’s Walter Benjamin Programme. Marcel received his PhD from University College London in 2021 with a cultural sociology of authorship and publishing in the humanities. He is a trained bookseller.
