Elisabeth Becker to participate in upcoming Muslims for American Progress Event

CCS Postdoctoral Fellow Elisabeth Becker will participate in “The neighborhood as Sanctuary: The Role of Black Muslims in the Making of Upper Manhattan,” at The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Ave., New York on Thursday, February 27 @ 6:30 p.m.

Muslims for American Progress, a project of The Institute for Social Policy and Understanding is hosting this free event featuring the newest MAP data and two MAP NYC participants, actor Hisham Tawfik (as seen on 30 Rock, Law and Order, and The Blacklist) and fashion photographer/spoken word artist Nicole Najmah Abraham. In honor of Black History Month, they will be taking a special look at the important contributions of Black Muslims in the making of Upper Manhattan.
