Elisabeth Becker appointed Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Virginia

Elisabeth Becker

CCS Fellow Elisabeth Becker has been appointed Postdoctoral Fellow with with the Religion & Its Publics project at the University of Virginia, which seeks to bridge the gap between the academic study of religion and public conversations about religion.

She has also just been awarded Non-Residential Fellowship from The University of Connecticut’s Humanities Institute Humility and Conviction in Public Life project for her book project, Unsettled Islam: Virtuous Contention in European Mosques; and her memoir, On the Edge of the Worlds. The Review Committee stated that Elisabeth’s work has the potential to make an impactful intervention in advancing the level of mutual self-awareness found in today’s public discourse and helping to improve its tenor and tone.
