On April 27, 2018 we dedicated one day of our annual Spring Conference to celebrate the work of Ron Eyerman, who retired in December of last year after 16 years at Yale as a Professor of Sociology and co-Director of CCS - the Ron Eyerman Retrospective Conference. “Performing collegiality: A tribute to Ron Eyerman” is one part of the remarks delivered on that occasion by Lisa McCormick, CCS Faculty Fellow, Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Edinburgh, and co-editor of Cultural Sociology. The more “academic” (and expanded) part of Lisa’s remarks, entitled “Moving Beyond Production: Ron Eyerman and the Cultural Sociology of the Arts” will be published in the American Journal of Cultural Sociology alongside an article by CCS Faculty Fellow Eric Woods (also a participant in the retirement conference) that considers Eyerman’s contributions to cultural trauma theory. We expect to have these two pieces online by later summer of this year.
