Philip Smith in Norway

Philip Smith giving the keynote address at the Second Narrative Criminology Symposium on June 15, 2017. His lecture considered the interplay of fictional narratives and ‘real world’ deviance and included a treatment of the unexpected motivational, behavioral and social impacts of Fifty Shades of Grey. This event was held at the University of Oslo Faculty of Law, Norway. The talk was held in the Atrium of Domus Media, which features the artwork of Edvard Munch. The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded in the Atrium of Domus Media from 1947 to 1989 to individuals such as Martin Luther King, Jr., Mother Teresa, Desmond Tutu, and Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama, to name but a few.
